TripperDash++ — Privacy Policy

Last updated: 14 August 2026

TripperDash++ streams a live turn-by-turn navigation map to the Royal Enfield Tripper dash display over the motorcycle's Wi-Fi. This policy explains exactly what data the app uses, where it goes, and — just as importantly — what it does not do.

The short version. TripperDash++ has no user accounts, no analytics, no advertising, and no backend server that we operate. Your location never leaves your phone except to render and stream the map. We do not track you, sell data, or build a profile. There is nothing to log into and nothing for us to see.

1. Who we are

TripperDash++ is developed by Martin Kolací (an individual developer), based in the Czech Republic. For any privacy question, contact: mail@kolaczek.cz.

2. What data the app uses

DataWhyWhere it goes
Precise location (GPS) To place your motorcycle on the map, follow the route, and stream the navigation view to the dash. Continues while the screen is locked so the dash keeps updating during the ride. Stays on your device. Used locally to render the map and sent only to the dash over the bike's local Wi-Fi. Never uploaded to a server we run.
Destinations & routes you enter To calculate directions and remember recent and saved destinations. Saved locally on your device. Sent to Apple Maps only to compute the route (see Apple's role below).
App settings (map style, saved bikes, Wi-Fi network name) To remember your preferences and reconnect to your dash. Stored locally on your device only.

3. What we do NOT collect

4. Third-party services

TripperDash++ fetches map and routing data directly from the services below, over your phone's cellular connection. We do not add identifiers to these requests; each service handles data under its own privacy policy.

ServiceUsed forPolicy
Apple Maps (MapKit) Route calculation and place search apple.com/legal/privacy
OpenStreetMap Map tiles (the base map imagery) osmfoundation.org
Open-Meteo Weather along the route ahead open-meteo.com/en/terms
OpenStreetMap Overpass Speed-camera and speed-limit overlay osmfoundation.org

These requests carry your approximate map area or route coordinates so the service can return the right tiles, route, or weather — the same way any maps app works. They do not carry your identity, and no account is involved.

5. Location while the screen is locked

TripperDash++ requests "Always" location access because the whole point of the app is to keep streaming navigation to the dash while your phone is in a pocket or tank bag with the screen off. This background location is used solely to keep the map and route on the dash current. It is not used for any other purpose and is never sent to us.

6. Data retention

Everything the app stores (saved bikes, recent destinations, settings, cached map tiles) lives in the app's own storage on your device. Deleting the app removes all of it. We hold nothing on our side, so there is nothing for us to retain or delete.

7. Children

TripperDash++ is a motorcycle navigation tool intended for licensed riders. It is not directed at children and collects no data that could identify anyone.

8. Your rights

Because the app keeps your data on your own device and we operate no server, you are already in full control: revoke location access anytime in iOS Settings, and delete all stored data by removing the app. If you have any question about this policy, email mail@kolaczek.cz.

9. Changes to this policy

If the app's data practices change, we will update this page and revise the "Last updated" date above.
